Valletta Christmas Lights

Last Wednesday was a public holiday here in Malta - Republic Day - and since we got the day off, we decided to go to Valletta to see the Christmas lights and, of course, I filmed everything to share with you.

I don't know about the previous years, since we only arrived two months ago, but this year everybody was going crazy on social media about the Christmas lights in Valletta. Now I know why!

Of course I saw a few pictures here and there but I tried not google about it because I really wanted to see it with my own eyes and get that kind of magic feeling when you see the streets completely decorated in the Christmas mood and you almost feel like a kid again.

Just to make it clear, religion is not my thing. I was raised in a catholic family, was baptized and received my 1st Communion. However, I have a very personal opinion about this topic, my own vision of things and I don't consider myself as being part of any religion.
Despite this, I completely love Christmas. I love the decorations on the streets, decorating my Christmas tree, the family meetings and dinners. Even listening to the same old Christmas songs.

Last year, our Christmas was very special. It was just a few months after João and I moved together and we had the opportunity to make a family dinner on our new home, decorate the whole house and our first Christmas tree. And if you ask me what is Christmas for me, that's it. Family and being together with the ones you love.

This year it will be very different for us. We are on a different country, with no family around. Just us and our dog, Oreo.  So, probably that's why I got a little emotional while watching the philharmonic band. If you speak Portuguese, in the video bellow you might hear João making fun of me.

So, with no further ado, here is the small video I recorded to share with you...
(excuse me if the image quality isn't the greatest but I used my phone)
